11th Annual Fraud Conference

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners held its international conference in New York City, New York. The Marriott Marquis Hotel at Times Square hosted the trade show and conference from July 31 to August 4, 2000 with over 1800 participants.

The Cressey Award, highest honors bestowed by the Association was given to John Stossel of ABC News.

FBI Special Agent Poscicia unveiled the new Internet Fraud Center. Its mission is to be a clearinghouse for all complaints of internet fraud. A packet of information gathered about the complaint is forwarded to appropriate agencies.
