Same
Old Same Old
How often do
we address a colleague or coworker with the words, "How's things going?"
Although we
are really hoping to hear some good, encouraging news or even willing to
commiserate with the news of a bad time, the reply is, "same old, same old."
Have you, like
a child, identified what you REALLY want for Christmas? Is it a new job,
more money to pay some bills that have been hanging around too long, the
loving, communication-filled relationship with a person that lights your
life and turns your smile into a hearty laugh?
Or do you think
that the best gift would be just to be left alone? Peace. The peace associated
with peace and quiet? The peace after a long sleep or a hot shower? Is it
peace of MIND? Peace of mind when worries and fears aren't a part of our
conscientiousness? The peace of mind filled by a sunset is complete, leaving
"no room at the inn" for anything that is incomplete.
The completeness
of a sunset is measured by the ACTION it has fulfilled. Working day in and
day out for life, warmth, growth. These are the things we all work for day
in and day out. The sun accomplishes this magnificence by being there to
its utmost, every day. Bright, shining, full, on time, ready, and in ACTION.
It does not rely on the actions or in-actions of any other body. It knows
or maybe it hopes it knows what it should do and just leaps over the mountain
and is there! In ACTION. |
